“Brazilian Vibe” is a seductive harmony between Canada and Brazil!”
A native of Quebec, Guylaina is a passionate vocalist and percussionist who studied in the iconic neighbourhood of Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Her authentic interpretations are a soulful blend of jazzy Bossa Nova, inspired by legends like Antonio Carlos Jobim, combined with the lively rhythms of Samba from Clara Nunes — both celebrated worldwide as symbols of Brazilian culture.
Her quest for world music led her on adventures from the heartbeat of Africa to the landscapes of Latin America, where she discovered her deep connection to Brazilian music.
In collaboration with some of Brazil’s finest roots musicians in town, such as Marcos Martins, a master’s graduate in music interpretation, and jazz specialist Dhiego Costa, who holds a master’s degree from the University of Manitoba, Brazilian Vibe brings a fresh energy to the music scene, reviving classics and introducing listeners to Brazil’s latest music gem.
